We Are the World Business Organization

The International Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (ICCSL) is the local chapter of the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the world’s leading international business organisation. Over the years, the ICC has extended its global presence to more than 170 countries, with a membership network exceeding 45 million businesses and organisations.

The ICC plays a pivotal role in shaping the global business landscape, addressing key areas such as trade facilitation, export and import regulations, and cross-border issues relating to the transport of goods. In recognition of its impact, the ICC was recently granted permanent observer status at the United Nations – the first time a private-sector organisation has been accorded this distinction.

In response to the evolving business environment, ICC Sri Lanka has established a series of specialised committees dedicated to addressing challenges within specific industry sectors. These committees provide a valuable platform for local businesses to discuss emerging issues, exchange insights, and propose meaningful change within their respective fields.

To be a change agent in national policy formulation and implementation, and a facilitator of global business with Sri Lanka, and disseminator of information on development of business utilizing the services of ICC Paris, whilst continuing to be a facilitator in dispute resolution.

International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is the world business organization, the only representative body that speaks with authority on behalf of enterprises from all sectors in every part of the world on international trade, investment systems and market economy. ICC was founded in 1919. Its objective was to promote free trade among countries. ICC has Consultative Status with United Nations and its specialized agencies and it acts as the spokesman for international business. ICC has national committees in 130 countries including Sri Lanka.
